How to delete your Drover data
Last updated: 14 August 2026
Drover is medicine and record keeping for UK beef and sheep farms. We don't run a server that stores your farm records — all data lives on your phone, with an optional backup, uploaded over an encrypted connection, to your own Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iOS).
What data Drover holds
- Local data on your phone: every record you've entered (medicine purchases, treatments, compliance documents, attached photos and PDFs). Stored in a local database; never transmitted to Drover Ltd.
- Cloud backup in your own Google Drive or iCloud, if you've enabled it. Stored in a hidden app-data area accessible only by Drover. Drover Ltd cannot read this data — it sits in your personal cloud storage.
- Your sign-in details, if you've signed in for a subscription: the account identifier and email address returned by Apple or Google. Held in the app's settings on your phone. Drover Ltd runs no server and holds no account record for you, so there is no account of yours for us to delete.
To remove your sign-in details
- Open Drover on your phone.
- Go to Settings → Your account.
- Tap Sign out.
Your account identifier and email address are erased from the phone immediately. Your farm records are untouched — signing out does not delete anything you've entered.
Signing out does not cancel a subscription. Apple and Google handle subscription billing, so cancel it in the App Store or Google Play — see VAT invoices for where to find your purchase records.
To delete everything (all local data + cloud backup)
Drover has a single deletion control that removes the lot. You don't need to contact us and you don't need to uninstall.
- Open Drover on your phone.
- Go to Settings → Delete all data.
- If you want a copy first, use the export offered on that screen — it downloads all your records as a ZIP of spreadsheet files.
- Type the confirmation word shown on screen, then confirm.
This deletes the cloud backup if you have one, signs you out, and wipes every record, setting and attachment from the phone. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
Deleting only the cloud backup
There is currently no separate control for deleting the cloud backup on its own — Delete all data removes it along with everything else. If you want the cloud copy gone but the records kept on your phone, revoke Drover's access in your own cloud account: in Google Drive under connected apps (Android), or in iCloud settings under the app's storage (iOS). That erases the hidden app-data area Drover writes to. Turning cloud backup off inside Drover stops future uploads but leaves the existing backup in place.
If you just uninstall
Uninstalling removes the local database and all attached photos and documents with the app, and Google or Apple delete the hidden cloud backup area shortly afterwards. Using Delete all data first is the surer route, because it erases the backup immediately rather than waiting on the platform.
What's retained after deletion
Nothing. Drover Ltd does not retain any user records, photos, or personal data on any server. Once you delete via the steps above, no copy remains under Drover's control.
Your underlying Google or Apple account is unaffected — only the Drover-specific data inside it is removed.
